Afro-pop singer, songwriter and UKZN alumnus Nomfundo Moh is on a tour to promote her new album, Ugcobo.
Ugcobo, which follows her debut album Amagama featuring chart-topping hits such as Phakade Lami, Soft Life and Lilizela, is a salute to her church and UKZN as platforms that have helped her showcase her talent. ‘I chose to start my album tour at UKZN because this Institution has a special place in my heart as one of the places where it all started for me,’ said Moh. ‘The students here listened and believed in me which is why I’m sharing this project with them, as one of my biggest target markets.’
Crowds of students lined up to see Moh perform at UKZN’s Howard College, her campus of attendance during her years of study where she pursued a Social Work degree, graduating in 2022.
Her recent performance which included old hits as well as a sneak peek into the new album featuring numbers such as Uthando Lunye and Umjolo O Healthy sparked a jubilant and electrify atmosphere with audience members singing along.
Students were given a chance to win tickets to her live concert on 2 September at the Playhouse Theatre.
Sharing her well wishes for Women’s Month she said: ‘I hope every woman is given the ability to believe in themselves because I’m living proof that you can achieve anything when that happens.’
Ugcobo is available on all digital platforms.
